J&W Medical LLC provides a number of long-term and short-term consulting services, either on a Level of Effort (LOE), Time and Materials (T&M) or Firm Fixed Price (FFP) basis.

Product Development

We can assist with all aspects of product development. We approach the process of product development by first defining the acoustic problem and the interacting physics. The total design and evaluation of a proposed solution is arrived at by considering the generation, transmission, propagation, reception, processing and interpretation of the spatial, temporal and frequency properties of the acoustical informational field. The development of the resulting product is achieved by considering the assessment of in vitro and in vivo test results, the materials and manufacturing process employed, and finally, the supporting IP produced.

Materials Selection

We assist customers in the selection of appropriate materials (organic, inorganic, and composite) for all applications, and provide a technically optimized and cost effective manufacturing process.

Pre-Clinical Testing

We have extensive experience with designing and conducting in vitro and in vivo tests.  Key aspects of an animal testing phase includes delineation of the Test Animal Species, determining Number of Animals required to establish efficacy and statistical significance, Anesthesia, Surgical Process, Post-Operative Care, and Euthanasia.  An operative segment is carefully retrieved and postmortem analyses conducted, including radio-graphical and histological evaluations. The post-operative period is managed closely with injected analgesics, with careful attention given to maintaining the ethics of the study.

Patent Development

We can assist with conducting patent searches of prior art, as well as in the preparation of the patent body and claims to establish the unique and novel aspects of the invention.  We can also assist in providing legal patent defense.

Proposal Development

Our team is quite skilled and successful in writing winning proposals to NIH, NSF, DOD and Industry, producing solid research and commercialization plans.  We can take the lead and responsibility to provide the required expertise and guidance, be responsible for various sections as directed, and/or act as a mentor to evaluate the proposal in accordance with evaluation criteria established by the issuing agency.
